• Support appropriate standards set forth by regulatory agencies, infection prevention professional organizations, healthcare executives, payers and consumers.
• Promote the role of the Infection Prevention and Control Professional, thereby improving their recognition as a separate and distinct expert leader.
• Support infection prevention research and utilize evidence-based results for practice changes, product selection and pertinent decision-making.
• Function as a resource for Infection Prevention and Control in the region by providing consultation, education, coaching and mentorship.
• Participate in emergency preparedness related to infection prevention and control.
